WALK IN INTERVIEW
The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology is an autonomous research organisation fully funded by Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi. It is a premier Institute of national and international repute, devoted to research in various aspects of atmospheric sciences with emphasis on tropical meteorology, particularly on the Climate Change and Indian Monsoon. It has state-of-the-art advanced infrastructural facilities like High Performance Computer (HPC) system with 70 TF peak performances, modern library, workshop and other scientific support.
Centre for Climate Change Research (CCCR) at IITM is developing interactive climate data portal under outreach activity and therefore it is proposed to recruit one Software Engineer on contract basis initially for a period of six months on a fixed salary of `21000 per month and later extendable depending on performance.
QUALIFICATION
ESSENTIAL : Master in Computer Application/Degree in Engineering or Technology with minimum one year working experience in the field of IT/Computers and Web-development and Web-designing techniques
OR
Diploma in Engineering or Technology/Degree in Computer Application with minimum four years of working experience in the field of IT/Computers and Web-development and Web-designing techniques. DESIRABLE : 1. Working Experience in Unix, Linux and Windows platform.
2. Scientific programming and data management
3. Familiarity with Shell and Perl programming
NOTE : Certifications related to web-development will be an added Advantage.
AGE LIMIT : Below 35 years as on 01.11.2010.
SALARY : `21000/- Per month consolidated
TENURE : Initially for a period of six months and later extendable depending on performance.(Age relaxation as per rules)

IIT Kanpur Project Associate/Sr. Project Associate/Project Engineer Vacancies in RFID Project

Applications are invited for temporary positions of Project Associate/Sr. Project Associate/Project Engineer to work on the project on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification System) at IIT Kanpur. The qualification and experience requirement for the above mentioned post are the following.
Project Associate: BTech/BE/MCA/MSc in Computer Science or in Information Technology with proficiency on programming using Visual C++/ Visual Basic/Visual Java. Development database interface will be an added advantage.
Sr. Project Associate: Same as for the Project Associate with a minimum of two years experience in a position equivalent to the Project Associate.
Project Engineer: MTech with Two years experience or BTech/BE/MCA/MSc with a minimum of four years of experience. Experience of administering technical projects with a team of two to four engineers is essential.
Salary Range: Rs. 10,000.00-20,000.00 (for Project Associates), Rs. 12,000.00-24,000.00 (for Sr. Project Associate), Rs 15,000.00-30,000.00 (for Project Engineer). The initial salary shall be fixed depending on qualification and experience.
