Topics:
The school will cover advanced topics in contemporary nanoscience and nanotechnology. The topics are
divided into lectures in the morning session and practical training in the afternoon session to have hands-on
experience in some of the techniques that are employed. These lectures will cover the Synthesis of Nanomaterials,
Characterization, Physical and Chemical Properties, Nano Devices and Applications. The laboratory
sessions include Chemical synthesis, Nano-imaging, Profilometry, Electron microscopy, Lithography, etc.
How to apply: Those interested in participating in this school should send their applications to the address given
below (preferably by e-mail) giving their name, address, date of birth, e-mail address, academic qualifications,
research experience and publication list. Ph.D. students should arrange a reference letter (e)-mailed by the
supervisor. The selected participants will be informed by 24 December 2010.
Target participants:
The target participants are mainly Ph.D. students (preferably in the 2nd or 3rd year of Ph.D.), Post-docs and Young Faculty members working in the area of Nanoscience or Nanotechnology. Financial support for train travel (AC III Tier), boarding and lodging will be provided to participants. The total number of participants is limited to 40.

Applications are invited for the positions of three full-time Research Associates (RA) and three fulltime
Project Assistants for a period of one to three years in two DST-sponsored projects
1. ‘Centre for nanotechnology including nanodevices’ and
2. ‘Magnetotransport studies on pulsed laser deposited ferromagnet/superconductor heterostructures and dilute magnetic semiconductors’. The initial appointment will be for one year.
Eligibility
Research Associate: Ph.D. in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science with record of published work
and experience in experimental condensed Physics/Chemistry.
Junior Research Fellow: First class M.Sc. degree in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science. Candidates with good academic record and qualified for GATE/CSIR-NET/JEST will be preferred.
Fellowship:
Research Associate: Rs 22,000–24,000 + HRA depending on qualification.
Junior Research Fellow: Rs 12,000–18,000 + HRA depending on qualification.
Mode of selection: By interview

The Nanotechnology Conclave is the annual flagship event of the Nanotechnology initiative of CII to bring together industry, governments and academia in partnership with other countries. This year CII and TNTDPC have partnered with OSKE.
Nanotechnology is one of the most exciting technological developments that the world has seen for generations. Scientists and business community are keen on this new technology as they see it as a revolutionary step that will enter nearly every industry. Already nanotechnology products are available in the world market. Industry has to adopt and embrace this new technology as this might change the market dynamics in future.
CII is the apex body bringing industries together for mutual growth by way of knowledge sharing, strives to connect contemporary research and industries in Nanotechnology in India.
The Nanotechnology Conclave is the annual flagship event to bring technologists, scientists, academicians and end users in an intellectual platform for discussing the various aspects of developments and collaboration, exploring the possibilities of Indian industry to take part in the research of nanotechnology related products and identification of possibilities for industry from partner countries for initiating and setting up new ventures.
For the year 2010, the conclave is to be held in New Delhi in the third week of April in partnership with OSKE, a fixed term special programme of the Government of Finland.

The Nanotechnology Conclave is the annual flagship event to bring technologists, scientists, academicians and end users in an intellectual platform for discussing the various aspects of developments and collaboration, exploring the possibilities of Indian industry to take part in the research of nanotechnology related products and identification of possibilities for industry from partner countries for initiating and setting up new ventures.
For the year 2010, the conclave is to be held in New Delhi in the third week of April in partnership with OSKE, a fixed term special programme of the Government of Finland.
