Research Position in Tomato Functional GenomicsAt University of Hyderabad, we are having a vibrant group on Tomato Functional Genomics, which is working on TILLING (Targeting Induced Local Lesions IN Genomes), Insertional Mutagenesis and fruit ripening in tomato. Some of the currents aims of the group include using reverse genetics to isolate tomato mutants delayed in ripening, having high lycopene content in tomato fruits and analysis of light and hormonal signal transduction pathways. For recent publications of the group see (Molecular Plant 3: 854-869; Plant Methods 6: 3; Plant Methods 5:18; Plant Signaling and Behavior 5:11.)
One position open at post-doctoral research associate level. The research associate would be offered fellowships of Rs 22,000/- pm + HRA. Applicants should have experience in plant transformation and DNA
cloning preferably in tomato or tobacco and should be supported by publications. PhD in molecular biology, or genetics is required.

RGCB invites applications for the position of Research Scientist or Visiting Scientist or Senior Research Associate or Post Doctoral Fellow from persons with a PhD in Life Sciences or MD in Virology, Pathology or Microbiology with previous experience in HPV research, diagnosis, detection methods, serology, cytology, pathobiology, etc. The job involves management of the HPV research facility, developing new HPV research programs and providing support to vaccine trials (antibody titers, genotyping, immune assays, etc).
The position offer and monthly emoluments will depend on experience and performance record (number and quality of publications, track record, etc). POST DOCTORAL POSITIONS IN EXPERIMENTAL CONDENSED MATTER PHYSICS
I. Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar has a strong program on thin film growth and modification by energetic ion beams and their characterization. In fact, we have a low energy ion beam induced surface nanostructuring unit for synthesis of large area patterned substrates. These patterned substrates can be used as templates for deposition of magnetic, ferroelectric, and optical thin films. Thin film growth for different applications would be possible by using UHV e-beam evaporation, DC/RF magnetron sputtering (with GLAD attachment), and pulsed laser deposition facilities.
Presently, we have postdoctoral position open for working in the above area. The position is initially for the duration of one year and is extendable for another year. The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in experimental Condensed Matter Physics/Materials Science. Candidates with experience in thin film/nanostructures and/or use of ion beams may be preferred.
II. A postdoctoral position is also open in the field of electronic structure / band structure calculations using various computational methods. The fellow in this position needs to work in collaboration with the experimental group working on the electronic structure / band structure studies. Previous experience in working with strongly correlated systems are desirable.
Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis may also apply for the position. The amount of fellowship will be Rs. 15,000-18,000/- per month depending on the experience of the candidate, apart from the HRA and other admissible allowances.

Post-doctoral positions are available for an initial period of one year and extendible by a maximum of one more year, under the following areas:
- Experimental/ Theoretical Nuclear Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Accelerator Physics: one position.
- Physics of quark‐gluon plasma and early universe cosmology (theory), attached to DAE Homi Bhabha Chair at VECC:one position.
Candidates who have submitted their Ph. D. thesis and are awaiting results may also apply. The candidates will be asked to deliver a seminar at VECC. The positions will remain open till suitable candidates are found.

Steroselective and Atom Efficient Synthesis of Multi-functional Molecules.
RA/PDF: (1 Post) Eligibility : Ph.D in Synthetic Organic Chemistry.
Job Profile: Literature survey, experimental work, analysis and interpretation of data, preparation of manuscripts for publication and other research related duties assigned from time to time.
Salary:
Consolidated salary Rs.16000/- p.m. + HRA. Those with postdoctoral experience in relevant areas and good publication record may be eligible for higher salary (Rs. 17000-18000/- p.m + HRA). The above salary is likely to be enhanced to 22000-24000 as per the new DST notification.
The positions are temporary initially for a period of one year and tenable only for the duration of project. The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
