Interested candidates are invited to attend walk-in-interview for the following posts under the project "Knowledge Network-Avahan" Project Objective: to prepare evidence-based monographs, reports and
peer-reviewed journal articles on truckers and clients of female sex workers.
Senior Research FellowNumber of Post: Two
Duration: One year
Remuneration: ` 18,000/- (plus HRA)
Qualification Required: Masters degree in Statistics/ Bio-statistics /Social Sciences /Population Studies/ Public health. Knowledge of handling statistical packages for health data analysis
Experience Required: Two years research experience in the field of HIV/AIDS
Age: Below 35 years on the date of interview
Place of work: Delhi
Responsibilities: i) Review of literature on research and program involving truckers and clients of female sex workers;
ii) Assist in analysis of behavioural, biological and programme data;
iii) Assist in writing monographs, reports and papers for peerreviewed publications;
iv) Participate in training programs/project review meeting
Note: 1. The above position is purely temporary and is co-terminus with above mentioned project. The engagement may be terminated at any time without notice.
2. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview and discussion.
3. The initial appointment will be for the period of 3/6 months which may be extended based on the performance of candidate and the project requirement.
4. The candidate engaged for above position will have no claim for regular appointment in NIMS or the ICMR or any other institute of the Council. These positions do not carry any other benefits.

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN BIOSTATISTICS YEAR 2010 - 2011
Growing need of Statisticians in clinical research especially in pharmaceutical companies, medical research institutes (Including Ayurvedic Institutes) environmental issues have redefined the role of statistician, which calls for a better understanding of life science and mathematical science subject together in order to take up the challenges of research and development in the area of health sciences. The proposed PG course is an attempt to cater such need and to encourage the co-operative efforts among members in education, research, industry and business.It is a two years course.
Who Can Apply?
Bachelor's degree in
any discipline in Science, Engineering or Pharmacy.(Minimum 40% marks in the qualifying exam.). Those appearing in degree exam can also apply. However admission of a selected student
will be conformed only after submission of the result of the degree
Intake:20 seats in all. Reservation rules of the M.S.Univ. to be followed.
