ANNOUNCEMENT OF COURSES
Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) is a premier institute in the field of remote sensing and geoinformatics. It provides education at Post Graduate level in remote sensing and geoinformatics for natural resource management; facilitates capacity building among the user community in all fields of geospatial technology and applications; and carries out research in frontier areas of remote sensing and geoinformatics. It also conducts Distance LearningProgramme through ISRO’s EDUSAT satellite, networking nearly 50 universities across India. IIRS also hosts Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific (CSSTEAP), affiliated to the United Nations, and provides support for its Remote Sensing and GIS courses. The institute announces its various courses to be conducted in 2010 and 2011.
Course 1: Certificate Courses on RS and GIS in
– (1) Agriculture and Soils (C-GA), (2) Coastal Zone Management (C-GC), (3) Forest Management (C-GF), (4) Geosciences (C-GG), (5) Land Information System (C-GL) and (6) Water Resources Management (C-GW)
