Military Racing Challenge - Autonomous Ground Vehicle for Low Intensity Conflict
Towards building autonomous navigation capability, DRDO is conducting a national level competition to harness the innovative ideas of our Student community to the National Robotics Program of India.
Aim:
To build an autonomous off road robotic platform which can navigate a rough terrain and avoid natural & man made obstacles in the shortest amount of time
The competition will be conducted in two stages
Who Can Apply/Details
(a) The competition is open to Third and fourth year students of Engineering colleges and institutions in India.
(b) Not more than two teams can be nominated from each college or Institution.
(c) Team strength can be upto a maximum of six students, including a designated team leader. However, only four students will be invited to Chennai for the final event.
(d) With due acceptance of the management of the colleges / institutions, students of more than one college / institutions can take part as one team. This should be reflected in the single nomination Performa by signatures of the heads of all the respective institutions.
(e) Students may take the help of one guide / supervisor.
Awards/ Prize Money
Stage1 : Ten prizes of Rs 1,00,000/- each. (Total Rs 10,00,000/-);
Stage 2: 3,75,000 and also Theme prizes 25,000 each( 5 prizes).
Important Dates:
Last Date for submission of Stage I entries: 31 Mar 2010
Evaluation of entries and selection of 10 finalists: Apr–May 2010
Announcing of results of Stage I: 31 May 2010
Time for students to prepare the Robots: Jun–Sep 2010
Conduct of Final Competition: 27 – 29 Sep 2010

YOUNG INNOVATORS CHOICE COMPETITION 2010 ,Conducted at Institute of Chemical Technology ICT
YICC is an event to connect academic brilliance to real life Industrial problem – a platform to put individual’s imagination at work, a challenge to innovate and find solutions.
The competition offers opportunity for undergraduate students to solve real life technical problems in a stipulated time period. Teams of young innovative students are invited to participate. Second and Final year undergraduate Student can participate in this competition .The problem statement would be modeled on a current industry trend and the participant are expected to provide comprehensive executable solutions.
There are attractive prizes for the successful contestants. A team of not more than three students will select the problem on the first day after registration The solutions will be judged by academic and industrial experts in the relevant fields in strict confidence .
PARTICIPATION IN YICC’10
1. Team of maximum three members can participate to solve real life (Industry Sponsored)technical problem.
2. The team will select a problem on first day of ICT YouthFest (January 11,2010).
3. The team will get 72 hours to come up with a paper solution.
4. They will be provided with library and computer with internet facilities in the Institute campus on in working hours.
5. The team members are advised to bring their own laptops and other aids.
6. If necessary, the team will be allowed to contact the concerned industry to seek additional information.
7. The team may attend the other conferences going on in the campus by registering for them separately.
8. The solutions will be judged by academic and industrial experts in strict confidence.
9. The selected teams have to present their paper solution on January 14, 2010.
Eligibility
GROUP A : Second year and onwards Bachelors degree student
GROUP B : Master degree students
Important Dates
Last date of Registration: 7th January 2010
Reporting of the teams: 11th January 2010 (before 11 am)
Presentation of solution (IDP): 14th January 2010
