National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research, Goa Ministry of Earth Sciences
National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research, Goa an autonomous research organization of
Ministry of Earth Sciences proposes to launch the fifth expedition in the ice free areas of the Indian sector of Southern Ocean. Duration of the expedition will be ~80 days. Launching of the expedition shall be in January 2011.
Who Can Apply?/How To Apply
If any Scientists/Research Fellows/Students from
Scientific Organizations/Universities are interested toparticipate please send the project proposal within the scope of Southern Ocean Research plan in the prescribed format given in the website to Dr N. Anilkumar, Coordinator, Southern Ocean Expedition, National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research [NCAOR], Headland Sada, Vasco-Da-Gama, Goa 403 804 at anil@ncaor.org with a copy to The Director, NCAOR at rasik@ncaor.org.

Today we have a very interesting section of institues.. the institutes under Department of Earth Sciences & Ocean Technology.Actually topics related to Marine,sea, ocean,earth sciences, weather, climatic changes, earthquakes,tsunami's, cyclones etc brings a sort of enthusiasm and interest in us.Might be because they are uncertain and unpredicable.
But they are vast as a field and give a vast scope for research and development.
Many novel technologies and solutions for mankind are hidden inside these seas and oceans.Let us all hope that many more young Indian Citizens will carry out research in these interesting areas of science and technology.
