NBRI Lucknow Project Assistant/JRF Vacancies in Plant Molecular Biology/Genetic Engineering/Agrotechnology/Microbiology/Environmental Sciences

Eligible and interested candidates are invited for the purely temporary positions in the following Areas for various R and D projects tenable at NBRI:-
Area I
Agrotechnology and Rural Development
Position : Project Assistant Level II
Essential Qualifications: 1st class M.Sc.(Ag) in Agronomy/Horticulture/Soil Science or 1st class M.Sc. in Botany.
Desirable: Basic knowledge of plant systematic, molecular profiling, lichens and their culture and computer knowledge.
Area II
Plant Molecular Biology & Genetic Engineering Position : Project Assistant Level II
Essential Qualifications: Ist class M.Sc. in Biochemistry/Genetics/ Botany/Biotechnology.
Desirable: Experience in molecular techniques and plant tissue culture or experience in the field of gene cloning, insect bioassay and Plant molecular biology.
Area III
MicrobiologyPosition : Project Assistant Level - II
Essential qualifications: 1st class M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Botany.
Desirable: Working experience in Microbiology.
Area IV
Environmental Sciences
Position : JRF/ Project Assistant Level - II
Essential Qualifications: For PA Level II : Ist class M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences/ Life Science/Chemistry/Agricultural Microbiology.For JRF: M.Sc. in any of the aforesaid subject with NET –JRF/NET-LS (UGC-CSIR) qualification.
Desirable: For PA Level II : Experience in Laboratory work and computer knowledge.For JRF: Experience in Plant propagation, environmental stress physiology and computer knowledge.
Stipend For Project Assistant Level II :Rs. 12000/- p.m. /Rs.10000/-p.m. Rs.8000/- p.m.(Consolidated)
For JRF Rs.16000/-p.m. + HRA/ Rs. 12000/-p.m. + HRA

Senior Research Fellow(1) and Lab Assistant(1) positions in Genetic Engineering in ICMR funded project at NIPGR , New Delhi
What is this all about?
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up one position each of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and Lab Assistant (LA) in the ICMR funded research project entitled 'Genetic engineering of vegetable and legume crops with oxalate decarboxylase gene for removal of oxalic acid on antinutritional stress factor for better human nutrition' of Dr. Subhra Chakraborty, Scientist, NIPGR.
Tenure: The above mentioned position is completely on temporary basis and is co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, but can be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate and discretion of the Competent Authority.
Post(Vacancy): a) Senior Research Fellow (One)
b) Lab Assistant (One)
Who Can Apply?
a) Candidates having good academic record with M.Sc. degree (Minimum 55%) in Botany / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Life Sciences or any other related field with two years post-M.Sc. research experience are eligible to apply. Research experience in Plant Genomics and Genetic Engineering will be given preference.
b) Candidates must posses B.Sc. degree with minimum of 4 years experience in any government R&D laboratory, University, Institute or M.Sc. with one year research experience in Plant Sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Biotechnology or related field are eligible to apply. Research experience in Molecular Biology and Plant Genomics will be given preference.
Emoluments: The emoluments for both the positions will be given as per sanction order of the project.

NIPGR may select candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate and reserves the right to relax any of the qualification(s) in case the candidate is found otherwise well qualified by the Selection Committee.
