Project Title: Synthesis, Structure, and Spectroscopic Studies of Low Valent Late Transition Metal Complexes with N-arylimidoylamidine and Other Neutral Chelating Ligands

This project aims towards the development of catalysts for hydrosilylation reactions based on low valent late transition metals. Hydrosilylation is an important industrial process to convert alkenes, alkynes and other unsaturated molecules to organosilicon compounds. A student working in this project will be trained to accomplish reactions using a glove-box and standard Schlenk/vacuum line techniques. Additionally, the student will also learn how to use various spectroscopic and spectrometric techniques for characterization of reaction products and single crystal X-ray diffraction method for structure determination.

Age limits: PA-1: 25 years; PA-II: 28 years; PA-III: 32 years

Minimum Marks(according to profile): PA-I: 50%; PA-II: 55%; PA-III: 55% in aggregate from any recognized University. PA- Project Assisant

Candidates satisfying requirements may attend the walk-in-interview on indicated date along with their bio-data, attested copies of certificates & marklists in proof of qualification (SSC onwards), age, experience and testimonials.

Candidates awaiting for their results for the desired qualification(s) are not eligible to
attend Walk-in interviews

No TA/DA will be provided for attending walk-in interviews

Relaxations:
Age for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates as per GOI rules.
Percentage of marks: for SC/ST candidates 5% of the minimum [Example: Minimum marks for PA-II - 55% and for SC/ST candidates 52.25%]
Under-qualified and over-aged candidates will not be allowed to attend the interview.

Registration time: From 9.15 AM to 10.00 AM. Candidates reporting after 10.00 AM will not be allowed to attend the interview.

The positions advertised in the category of Project Assistants are purely temporary in nature. Candidate(s) selected as Project Assistant shall not be treated as employees of NIO/ CSIR and shall have no right implicit or explicit for their absorption in NIO/ CSIR as regular employees.
Candidates with more than 5 years of experience as Project Assistants (counted from 28/03/03) in CSIR laboratories together are not eligible.
