About the Institute in Brief
Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Asia’s first Space University was established under the Department of Space in September 2007. IIST is presently offering 4-year B. Project Title: Synthesis, Structure, and Spectroscopic Studies of Low Valent Late Transition Metal Complexes with N-arylimidoylamidine and Other Neutral Chelating Ligands
This project aims towards the development of catalysts for hydrosilylation reactions based on low valent late transition metals. Hydrosilylation is an important industrial process to convert alkenes, alkynes and other unsaturated molecules to organosilicon compounds. A student working in this project will be trained to accomplish reactions using a glove-box and standard Schlenk/vacuum line techniques. Additionally, the student will also learn how to use various spectroscopic and spectrometric techniques for characterization of reaction products and single crystal X-ray diffraction method for structure determination.
