JRF Position in BRNS Project
Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow in a research project entitled ‘Evaluation
of Radiation Resistance of Rare Earth Oxide Thin Films’. The fellowship is tenable for three years with an emolument of Rs 12,000 p.m. for the first two years and Rs 14,000 for the third year.
Qualifications: The applicant should have a First class Master’s degree in Materials Science/Physics (preferably with a specialization in Solid State Physics)/Engineering with a consistently good academic background. The work involves setting up and maintenance of RF sputtering unit.

Applications are invited for one SRF (Rs.14,000/- p.m. + HRA), two JRFs (Rs.12,000/- and Rs.14,000/- p.m. in the first two yrs and third yr respectively + HRA) and one Technical Assistant (Rs.6,000/- and Rs.7,000/- p.m. in the first two yrs and third yr respectively + HRA) to work in the time bound research project titled “Coastal Processes and Hazards in the Coastal Zone of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts - An Integrated Approach through Field Measurements, Remote Sensing and GIS Techniques” sponsored by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi.
Qualification: M.Sc. in Marine Geology/Applied Geology/Geology/Earth Science and Resource Management/Geoinformatics with good academic record for JRF and same qualification with two years of research experience for SRF. Preference will be given to those who have passed national written tests like UGC-CSIR ‘National Eligibility Test’ (NET) and/or having research experience as well as good practical knowledge in Remote Sensing & GIS applications for JRF/SRF positions. For Technical Assistant’s position, degree/diploma holders are eligible. Candidates appeared/appearing for final examinations can also apply for JRF and TA posts. In the event of such candidates found suitable for JRF and TA posts, appointment order will be issued after passing their final examinations.
