Opening for a Research Positions in Neurobiology of Sleep

Applications are invited for two temporary posts of JRF/SRF in a CSIR  sponsored project titled "Neurochemical basis of rapid eye movement sleep regulation in rats". The appointment will be for one year and may be extended, depending on satisfactory progress of the candidate, for the duration of the project which may be up to three years. CSIR and JNU rules will be followed for the appointments.
Qualifications :
For JRF - M.Sc. with JRF or NET/GATE.
For SRF - M.Sc. plus GATE/NET at least; with a minimum of two years of active research experience in neurobiology related work; publications will be preferred.
M.Sc. in physical sciences and experience in computational neurobiology will be preferred for one of the candidates.
Salary/Fellowship : As per CSIR rules.
Note :Selection in the project does not in any way qualify candidates to register in JNU for Ph.D. Candidates will be short listed based on their qualification in the application and need of the project work. R and D Engineer Position for Image Processing at NBRC
Essential Qualification: B.Tech/B.E
Desirable Qualification: M.E/M.Tech Degree in Electrical, Electrical and Electronics, Biomedical, Computer Science or Ph.D in Physics
Project Investigator : Dr. Pravat K Mandal (Neurospectroscopy and Neuroimaging Laboratory)
Applicants will be working on the following areas:- Brain image processing using MRI/MRS/fMRI data.
Emoluments: 25,000/- p.m consolidated

NATIONAL BRAIN RESEARCH CENTRE(NBRC), Manesar-122050, Gurgaon calls for a “Research Associate (RA-1)” in CSIR sponsored project titled "Study the defect in neurogenesis and initial synapse formation in mouse model of Angelman mental retardation syndrome".

Essential Qualification : A Ph.D. degree in any branches of Life Sciences, with interest in Brain Research or in any subject related to the general area of Neuroscience. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D thesis are also eligible to apply.
Eligible candidates may appear for a walk-in -interview at NBRC  alongwith their CV and all the required certificates in original and with a set of self attested copies of such certificates / documents in support of their qualification and experience.
No TA / DA will be payable to the candidates for attending interview.
Fellowship : 16,000/-per month.

Project assistant positions in Neurosciences at NBRC, Manesar, Haryana

What is this all about?
Applications are invited from eligible candidates willing to join as a Project Assistant at National Brain Research Centre, Manesar, Haryana.

Essential Qualification:
Master’s degree in any branch of Science such as Biology / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications / Pharmacy / Veterinary Science / Psychology or equivalent. OR
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine or equivalent.
Applications forms are available with the Academics Section, NBRC and can be collected in person free of cost obtained through post or by courier by sending a demand draft of Rs.50/-(non-refundable) in favour of Director, NBRC payable at Manesar/Gurgaon. Application forms can also be downloaded without any charge from the NBRC website (www.nbrc.ac.in) under the column Application form for Project Assistant.

Completed application forms in the prescribed format along with photocopies of all qualification / experience certificates, two recent signed passport size photographs and Demand Draft of Rs.100/- [non-refundable( no fees in case of SC / ST and physically challenged candidates)] in favour of Director, NBRC payable at Manesar/Gurgaon should be sent to the Registrar, National Brain Research Centre, NH-8, Manesar – 122050, Haryana with the subject line clearly stating ‘Application for Project Assistant”. National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) is a premier institution engaged in research in the frontier areas of Neuroscience to understand the function of healthy and diseased brain. With the goal to provide seamless transition from classroom training to high-quality research in challenging areas of Neuroscience, NBRC offers Ph.D. programme in Neuroscience for exceptionally meritorious and motivated students. Admissions for the year 2010 are based on an entrance test followed by 2 tier interview.
