Desirable Qualification : Diploma / Training in Biological Instrumentation
Consolidated Pay : Rs. 8,325/- p.m.
Age : Below 30 years (relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN candidates only as per rule). Eligible and interested candidates should appear before the Selection Committee for an Interview with a typed application addressed to the

The Department of Plant Science will be organizing a DBT-sponsored training course for mid-career
scientist involved in undergraduate teaching in Life Sciences (Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology)
from 18 September to 1 October 2010. The course would consist of Lectures followed by practical’s/
hands on session.
Faculty, holding regular positions in colleges or universities may apply for this course. Application may
be sent to the Course Director stating

National Institute of Plant Genome Research, is an Autonomous Research Institution, funded by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and conducts basic and applied research in the frontier areas of plant biology.
Admission to Ph.D. Programme for 2010-2011
National Institute of Plant Genome Research, is an Autonomous Research Institution, funded by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and conducts basic and applied research in the frontier areas of plant biology.
- The Institute invites applications from candidates who have completed or will be completing M. Sc. (by August 31, 2010) in Life Science or equivalent in related disciplines with minimum 55% marks, and have cleared the CSIR-UGC NET exam / DBT-JRF (selected through BET/BINC) / ICMR NET exam for JRF (with a valid Junior Research Fellowship as on September 1, 2010), for conducting advanced researches in the frontier areas
- Areas of research: Plant Biology such as, Computational Biology, Genome Analysis and Molecular Mapping, Molecular Mechanism of Abiotic Stress Responses, Nutritional Genomics, Plant Development and Architecture, Plant Immunity, Transgenics for crop improvement etc.
- Reservations are as per statutory norms. The selection will be made on the basis of interview only. The selected candidates will be enrolled for Ph.D. program in academic affiliation with the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. NIPGR will provide shared accommodation to selected candidates.

Applications are invited for admission to the ICGEB, New Delhi Ph.D. programme for 2010-2011
Details
- Candidates with a M.Sc. degree who have qualified the CSIR-UGC (NET), ICMR or DBT JRF examination, or those having a professional degree such as MBBS/MTech, plus a valid fellowship from CSIR/ICMR/DBT.
- Candidates must ensure that their fellowships are valid for at least 4 years from August 2010. Applications are invited in two streams - Plant Biology and Human Health.
- Applications will be made on plain paper, giving choice of the stream, personal and academic details, and will be attached with attested copies of degrees and marksheets, fellowship award letter and a crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- (non-refundable), in favour of “ICGEB, New Delhi”, payable at New Delhi.
- Please send applications to: The Chief of Administration, ICGEB, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi – 110067 in an envelope clearly marked with “Application for Ph.D. Programme – 2010-2011”and “The stream”. An application that does not mention a stream or mentions both streams will be rejected.
- Short-listed candidates will be called for a written examination (if necessary) and/or interview preferably in first week of July 2010.
- Students will not be allowed to change the stream mentioned at the time of application after the selection.
