CSIR Introduces research oriented PG course in Engineering

Two-year Post Graduate Research Training Programme in Engineering (PGRTPE)

CSIR introduces Post Graduate Research Training Program in Engineering, this is unique of its kind in the country. There are 7 CSIR institutes participating in this program. Below are the participating institutions

  1. Central electronics engineering research institute (CEERI), Pilani
  2. Central Scientific Instruments Organization (CSIO), Chandigarh
  3. Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI)
  4. Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT),Bhubaneshwar
  5. Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP),Dehradun
  6. Structural engineering research center(SERC) , Chennai
  7. National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Nagpur

Along with the research and education a very decent stipend(25,000 per month) is being given out to selected candidates. In addition to this, students completing the program with distinction will be considered for absorption within CSIR as regular scientists in PB3 (scale of Rs. 1560039100 with grade pay of Rs. 6600).

Introduction

The programmes are designed to give in-depth exposure and hands-on R&D experience to the candidates in the above areas. On completion of the programme, the candidates will have ample scope to join the growing R&D and industrial sectors in professionally challenging positions. In addition, students completing the programme with distinction will be considered for absorption within CSIR as regular scientists in PB3 (scale of Rs. 1560039100 with grade pay of Rs. 6600).

The duration of the PG research training is 2 years. Extension beyond this period for completing the programme will be decided on a casebycase basis.

The medium of instruction and examination will be English.
