Call for Abstracts on Scientific and Technological Approaches for Sustainable Use of Water Resources
Global Indian Scientists and Technocrats Forum (GIST) 2010 invites papers for its convention on
‘Scientific and Technological Approaches for Sustainable Use of Water Resources’. The convention aims to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the present status and future thinking in ‘Science, Technology and Engineering’ of the subject.
The Scientific Program Committee headed by Dr C. D. Thatte, Former Secretary to Govt of India and
later Secretary General ICID Honoraire has adopted in its scope the following themes for the sessions: River Basin Hydrology and Climate Change, Water and Irrigated Agriculture, Water for
Drinking/Domestic and Industrial Use, Water for Energy, Water for Environment.
With its focus intended only on scientific part of these themes, the convention will consciously steer clear of socioeconomic and political facets. Each of these five themes will include papers presented by eminent
authorities through ‘theme papers’ followed with ‘Response papers’ on the sub-themes identified.
Scientists, researchers, innovators, professionals and industrial organizations are requested to submit
the Abstracts of their papers corresponding to any of the topics and sub-themes
on e-mail abstracts@gist2010.org. Vijyana Bharati and Maharashtra Education Society are the organizers of this convention which will be held in Pune on 26 and 27 December 2010.
