A Walk-in-Interview will be held at CGCRI to engage a bona fide Indian citizen for one post of Research Associate (RA) for working in the project on “Sensor Hub for the Development of Sensors and Sensor Arrays for Industrial Applications”. The project is sponsored by DST (Govt of India) and CSIR (New Delhi) with the participation of the following organizations/educational Institutions i.e. Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC- Kolkata), Jadavpur University, Calcutta University, Bengal Engineering & Science University (BESUS), and CGCRI.

One of the objectives of the Hub is the development of electronic nose for tea aroma characterizations. The selected candidate will be posted at CDAC, Salt Lake City, Kolkata to work in the area of “Design of electronic circuit and instrumentation”.

The post is purely temporary and will be co-terminus with the duration of the project. Subject to the satisfactory performance of the selected candidate, the tenure would initially be for two years which can be extended by two more years. The possibility of registration for Ph.D for a non-Ph.D candidate exists if he/she shows promise.

The eligibility criteria: Ph. D in Electronics Science or engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentations) OR 1st Class ME/M. Tech in Electronics Science, or Engineering (Electrical,
Electronics, Instrumentations), with three years of research experience preferably in Sensors related areas.
Stipend: Rs. 22,000/- pm + HRA as per rule .
Age limit: 35 years as on 01/09/2010 (Relaxation in age limit of the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per the Government rules

Sc. in Electronic Science/ M. Sc. in Atmospheric Science. Remunerations will be as per the sanction of the Funding Agency and the norms of the
University. Upper age  limit is (i) 28 years for JRF and Project Assistant, (ii) 32 years for SRF, as
on 01.08.2010, relaxable up to 5 years for Woman / SC / ST candidates. The tenure of the JRF
and Project Assistant is one year at present but is likely to be continued till the end of the project.
The post of SRF is tenable for a maximum period of two years.

Sl.No.1 ENGINEER – SC (MECHANICAL / METALLURGY)
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE : B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) (First Class) in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgy having minimum one year working experience .
The person for mechanical should have relevant experience in engineering design and analysis (Heat transfer, thermal hydraulics and structural design) using ANSYS software or its equivalent.
