What is this all about?
Admission in Post-M.Sc.–Ph.D. Programme 2010 at S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences
Applications are invited from candidates having qualified INSPIRE-SHE/CSIR-UGC-NET for the
positions of Junior Research Fellows.
Qualification: As per the criterion for eligibility under ‘Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE)’ by
the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and CSIR/UGC-NET Examination.
Interview: The candidates will be called for an interview.
Desired field of study: Both theoretical and experimental research are carried out at the Centre
which has four departments: Theoretical Science; Material Science; Astrophysics and Cosmology; and
Chemical, Biological and Macromolecular Sciences.
Residential programme: The PM.Sc.–Ph.D. Research is a residential programme all through and
the Centre will provide hostel and other infrastructural facilities.
Monthly stipend: JRF – Rs 12,000; SRF – Rs 14,000 and other benefits based on satisfactory
performance as per existing DST rules. The Centre does not charge any Tution Fee.
