Qualification and Experience
Junior Research Fellow: MSc or equivalent degree with minimum 55% marks after qualifying NET conducted by CSIR twice a year. (NET qualifying is exempted for those who get selected for PhD at SCTIMST)
Senior Research Fellow
MSc, BE, BTech with minimum
60% and at least two years of post MSc,BE, BTech research experience as evidence from fellowship /associateship or traineeship and published papers in standard referred journals.
OR
MBBS or BDS (with 1 year of internship) with first division.
OR
Bpharm/BVSc/BSc (Ag) or equivalent degree with minimum 60% marks and at least three years of experience. Research workers who have had requisite training methods of research along with above qualification and who have proved their aptitute for original research are eligible for this fellowship.
Research Associate :
Persons possessing Doctorate (PhD/MD/MS/MDS) or equivalent degree having three years of research, teaching and design and developent experience after MVSc / Mpharm / ME / Mtech will be eligible.
Desirable:
(1) Post graduate degree in Physiology / Life Science.
(2) Experience in sleep research.
(3) Ability to record electrophysiolgical and other signals from human subjects and expertise in interpreting these signals for analysis of sleep.
(4) Ability to design temp. sensors and record body temperature.
(5) Expertise in handling of small animals and surgical skill for chronic implantation of electrodes for recording EEG, EMG, EOG and PGO Waves.
Stipend
Junior Research Fellow - Rs.12,000/- per month.
Senior Research Fellow - Rs.14,000/- per month.
Research Associate – Rs. 16,000/- per month.
Age limit: Junior Research Fellow - Below 28 years as on 30.04.2010
Senior Research Fellow - Below 32 years as on 30.04.2010
Research Associate - Below 35 years as on 30.04.2010
(The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years in the case of applicants belonging to scheduled castes / tribes, physically handicapped and 3 years for OBC candidates for all posts)
Duration of post: One year
Nature of Appointment: Purely on Contract basis
